- Read Romans 10:3-5
- How would you summarize the Jew’s strategy for getting right with God?
- Read James 2:10
- What is the problem with being made right with God by trying to keep the whole law? (Compare with Romans 3:20 & 7:7-11)
- How do you see people today trying to be made right with God by keeping the law?
- How tempting is it for you to seek approval from God by keeping the law?
- Read Romans 10:6-13
- What does it mean to confess that “Jesus is Lord”?
- What would be the point of seeking a special “word” from heaven or from the dead? (v. 6-7)
- Why is it important to know that the “word” is right here among us, where we currently live? (v. 8)
- What excuse can the Jews give for not knowing God’s way of salvation?
- Read Romans 10:14-17
- What is the point Paul is making with the series of questions he asks here? How does it highlight the importance of evangelism and missions?

- Again, what is the point of Paul’s series of questions here?
- Israel heard, but the Gentiles received. How does this help explain some of the division and hatred in the early church?
- The early church was proclaiming Jesus is Lord at a time when everyone else was saying, “Caesar is Lord.” What are some false gods that compete with your allegiance to Jesus?
